Since joining the firm of Casha and Casha, Ms. Novi’s primary practice has been in the area of family law and domestic relations. Her extensive experience in family law matters includes the handling of all aspects of the litigation of a divorce; child support, custody and visitation issues; domestic violence; drafting of pre-nuptial agreements; post-judgment disputes and other matters venued in the Family Court. She has also handled matters for clients in the areas of guardianship and incompetency; real estate; municipal court; civil litigation; and estate planning.

Ms. Novi has earned numerous professional accomplishments and accolades since her admittance to the bar. She was named a “Rising Star” in the legal profession in the New Jersey Monthly magazine. In 2007, she received a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding pro bono service from the Legal Services Foundation of Essex County and Volunteer Lawyers for Justice. In addition she as received a Commendation from the Bergen County Executive for pro bono legal services provided to Bergen County residents living with domestic violence and Certificate of Appreciation from Alternatives to Domestic Violence for pro bono counsel provided to victims of domestic violence in 1998. Ms. Novi has also lectured on domestic violence at New Jersey City University.

She is a graduate of Montclair State University and New York Law School. While a student at New York Law School, she interned for the Honorable Walter M. Schackman (Commercial Part, New York State Supreme Court, Manhattan). Prior to joining Casha & Casha, she maintained offices in Caldwell, New Jersey. She has also served as a compliance officer for New York Life Insurance Company in their world headquarters in New York City. Prior to her position with New York Life Insurance Company she was an associate with the Wall Street law firm of Seeger Weiss representing clients in their claims of fraudulent sales practices against life insurance companies. Ms. Novi’s first employer after earning her law degree was as an associate with the Law Offices of Susan Service, in Bergen County, where she first began to practice family law.

She is a member of the Bars of New Jersey, New York and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey as well as the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Family Law Committee. She has served as chair of the Montville Township Residents with Disabilities Advisory Committee, as secretary of the Montville Township Kiwanis Club, and as a Board Member of Lawyers with Children Network. She is also a co-founder and vice president of the Towaco Civic Organization and was a founding member of Mid-Town Children’s Fund, Inc.

Ms. Novi is fluent in Italian and conversant in Spanish and has enjoyed representing international clients as well as individuals for whom English is a second language.
